KIND-HEARTED freemasons from a lodge in Inverclyde donated £1,000 to charity.

Members of Lodge Crawfurdsburn Greenock No. 1121 gathered the money together for Inverclyde Women’s Aid.

Right worshipful master, brother Adam McKenzie – who spent 30 years in the police force – chose the charity as he wanted to highlight, support and acknowledge its great work in supporting victims of domestic abuse.

He presented the cheque to finance and support worker June McDermid.

Inverclyde Women’s Aid works to end domestic abuse through promoting women’s equality and children’s rights, and works to ensure appropriate service responses are available for women, children and young people with experience of domestic abuse.

Earlier this year, Lodge Crawfurdsburn Greenock No. 1121 helped with the purchase of iPads for patients at Inverclyde Royal, the repair of the playhouses at Larkfield Children’s Centre, and with donations to Inverclyde Foodbank.
