Farnborough’s St John Ambulance branch has received a £250 grant from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Freemasons to allow them to continue supporting the NHS.
The grant, which came from the group’s Covid-19 Relief Chest, has been gifted to St John Farnborough in support of freemason and community coordinator Eric Robinson, who is a St John volunteer.
Also a member of Mercury Lodge 4581 in Farnborough, Hampshire, Eric has provided close support to the NHS throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
Eric, who has been volunteering and working with St John for 60 years, said: “It’s good to put my training into action at a time when the ambulance service is under increased demand.
“It’s really important for us to take some of the burden from the NHS crews.
“Helping people at this time is hugely rewarding.”
The grant will help fund essential training for crews from Farnborough.
